The iOS 4.0 for your iPhone is now ready for download from your iTunes! With over 100 new features, the free iOS 4 Software Update lets you do some amazing things. Check out our earlier Quick & Dirty Guide for a quick overview of the features we like, or head on to Apple.com for more detailed stuff.
Compatibility
Just a note to iPhone users out there, iOS 4 works with iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 3G. Not all features are compatible with all devices. For example, multitasking is available only with iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS.
Our favorite New Feature: Mail!
The one feature we loved the best is actually the new Mail! Yeah sure, Multi-tasking, Folders all make really cool features but over at DiscoveryWeek, we get LOTS of mail. So having a really cool new mail with advanced management features is really awesome.
Things like Unified Inbox for different email accounts. You can access each inbox separately and switch between inboxes with a few taps. Or for a faster look at your incoming messages, view email from all your accounts together in the unified inbox.
More important is you can now organize your messages by thread — a chain of replies in an email conversation. Mail can quickly identify all the messages in a thread by grouping them together under the most recent message, sorted by date and listing the number of messages. So it’s easy to keep track of an entire email conversation.
What’s your favourite new iOS 4.0 feature?

Some photos of the recently upgraded iPhone 3GS. The OS feels snappier and we still want to get the phone through its paces to test it in terms of speed and battery life but for the time we had it live so far, it feels great! Share with us your experience!
