MAC + iPOD DISCOVERY WEEK, MID VALLEY MEGAMALL, 1-5 JULY 2009
SPECTACULAR BURSTS OF SIGHTS, SOUNDS AND COLOURS
AT THE MAC + iPOD DISCOVERY WEEK
Organised by Apple Premium Resellers, Mac® + iPod® Discovery Week is back by popular demand and will be held at Mid Valley Megamall from the July 1-5, 2009. The event will showcase Mac®, iPod® and iPhone 3G® products and accessories. Consumers can look out for special offers and workshops on how to create music, movies as well as edit and manage their photographs in simple and intuitive ways.
For the first time, the event will include iPhone 3G booths. Apple Premium Reseller Machines, authorised by Maxis as an iPhone reseller, will showcase iPhone 3G®, and some of the latest third party applications and games.
Gameloft, an international game developer, will demonstrate some of their latest mobile games developed specifically for iPhone and iPod touch. The Gameloft Asphalt 4 game competition finals will be held during the roadshow over the weekend. The finalists are winners from the iPod touch roadshows organised by various resellers that was held throughout the month of April and May.
Mac and iPod owners will have the opportunity to bring their gadgets in for a free 12-point check-up at the Service Spa.
At the iPhoto booth by Ecaz Studios, visitors will be given an opportunity to have a complimentary portrait taken by professional photographers. Ecaz Studios will be transferring everyone’s best portrait into postcards and greetings cards which will be delivered to a customer’s doorstep. Visitors are also entitled to a voucher from Ecaz Studios that gives them special offers on Fotobooks printed with any Apple Authorized Reseller. Portraits taken will be submitted for a “Portrait of the Day” and “Portrait of the Show” competition to be judged by professional photographers, Ecaz Studios and Leica.
Organisers will conduct daily workshops on Apple software iLife ’09 and iWork ’09 for beginners and Aperture, Final Cut and Logic for professionals throughout the five days. An addition to the Mac + iPod Discovery Week is the iMovie booth. Consumers will be shown how to record a simple home movie with compact consumer cameras from JVC, create a movie and share it with their friends via their iPod, iTunes or Youtube.
Altered Frequency, one of the most exciting and energetic acts to emerge in the Klang Valley in recent years will perform during the roadshow. Other emerging artists will jam on drums, guitar and bass at the Roland booth. The booth will demo Apple’s GarageBand ‘09 software that puts an entire recording studio right on a Mac and consumers will learn how to use it.

Mac + iPod Accessories Market
Machines is also running an Accessories Market with a wide range of accessories compatible with Macs and iPods to dress up Macs and iPods . Consumers will be able to ‘test-drive’ the iPod of their choice.
Ecaz Studios
Ecaz Studios, a photography studio, with the help of some professional Leica cameras, will take glamour shots of interested visitors and demonstrate iPhoto® for image processing.
Roland Music
An internationally famous brand of music equipment for professional musicians, Roland’s KL branch will demonstrate Apple’s GarageBand® software and show consumers how they can create their own tunes and music using a Mac.
Gameloft
Gameloft is a leading international publisher and developer of video games for mobile phones and consoles. Established in 1999, it has emerged as one of the top innovators in its field. The company creates games for mobile handsets equipped with Java, Brew or Symbian technology. The total number of games-enabled handsets is anticipated to exceed four billion units by 2012.
